Festival Of Friendship

Efforts have been made in every sector to promote unity on the island of Hispaniola comprising Haiti and The Dominican Republic. Both governments have tried incessantly to develop amicable relations through sports, commerce yet they are still plagued with tension on both sides.
One can feel the tension at the border of these parallel countries. Because music crosses all boundaries, we are following the example of Quincy Jones, producer of the song “We are the world” who successfully sensitize the world to famine in Africa. Why not in Haiti?
In this fashion X-Tra production plans to utilize music as the instrument of peace to produce a music festival proudly dubbed “The Festival of Friendship.

Fonds Parisien is 30 minutes from Port-au-Prince and 12 kilometers from the Dominican Border and the City of Ganthier.”

The citizens of these two cities traditionally organize socio-cultural events to involve both sides such as: The Friendship Games organized by the Olympic Committee in the early 1990’s.

The Fonds Parisien area is home to superstars Jean, Brutus Derissaint of Zenglen . Thus its youth is dedicated to artistic activities and look forward to events that bring them these stars allowing them to live their culture.

Accordingly, X-Tra production found it necessary to couple Haitians and Dominicans in this most appropriate area and attract the media, tourism and world-renowned artists thereby reenergizing the towns and the youth through the Friendship Festival.
